Key Responsibilities
- Set up paint booths and prepare equipment for various painting jobs in compliance with company procedures.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain paint booth equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Assist in training fellow painters on proper use of paint booth systems and application techniques.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, washing, sanding, or filling dents to remove corrosion and imperfections.
- Mix paints and coatings according to formulas or customer specifications, ensuring correct ratios of thinners, catalysts, and cure times.
- Operate handheld spray guns to apply paint, lacquer, or protective coatings evenly and accurately.
- Verify that painted surfaces meet quality standards, customer expectations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace following daily 5S practices and adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade Twelve or equivalent education.
- Prior experience with industrial or automotive paint finishes, bodywork, and part preparation.
- Knowledge of paint mixing ratios, coating densities, and curing requirements.
- Ability to operate handheld spray paint guns safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality work.
- Preferred: training or certifications related to industrial painting, safety, or quality assurance.
