Key Responsibilities
- Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, exhaust, and electrical components under the guidance of experienced technicians
- Perform oil changes and scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer specifications and company standards
- Install and maintain tires, including mounting, balancing, and rotation to ensure safe handling and extended tread life
- Install batteries and shock absorbers, and check electrical systems for proper function
- Road test vehicles after service to verify repairs and ensure customer safety
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and equipment handling procedures
- Communicate with customers and service advisors to explain recommended services and completed work in clear, professional terms
Qualifications
A valid automobile driver’s license is required, and you must be able to drive both customer and company vehicles. Basic reading, writing, and math skills are necessary for completing work orders and understanding service procedures. While experience in the automotive service industry is preferred, a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are equally valued. You should have the ability to learn basic mechanical tasks and follow instructions carefully. Physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a shop environment throughout the shift is essential.
