Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our quality team, you will ensure operational excellence and compliance daily. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting systematic sampling and monitoring of kiwifruit and avocados throughout the packing process to verify quality against all required standards.
  • Clearly and promptly communicating quality results and any concerns to production, grading, and packing supervisors to facilitate immediate action.
  • Supporting the site team in achieving daily targets for quality, grade-out, and reject rates.
  • Maintaining meticulous and accurate records and documentation in line with BRC, Zespri, and AsureQuality audit requirements.
  • Upholding all health and safety policies and contributing to a safe, proactive safety culture.
  • Providing guidance and setting a positive example for seasonal staff regarding quality procedures and teamwork.
  • Participating in internal and external audits and supporting continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable and proactive individual who brings the following:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Controller role or a similar position with a strong focus on compliance and detail.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all data recording and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-player attitude.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work well under pressure, especially during the peak harvest season (March–June).
  • A positive, energetic, and solutions-focused approach.

Experience within the kiwifruit or avocado industry, knowledge of Class 2 systems, or CCP qualifications are highly advantageous but not essential for a candidate with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
