Thala Beach Nature Reserve, a locally owned eco-resort located 10 minutes south of Port Douglas, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to join its full-time team. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional with a keen eye for detail, a passion for nature, and the ability to lead a team effectively. The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet the resort’s high standards, support team development, and help maintain a world-class guest experience. Weekend and public holiday availability is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping operations to maintain high standards
  • Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation meet resort requirements
  • Oversee ordering, stocktake, and inventory management to maintain appropriate par levels of supplies
  • Implement operational procedures and standards across the housekeeping department
  • Communicate clearly with Front Office and Maintenance teams to support seamless guest experiences
  • Manage employee performance, providing feedback and guidance for professional growth
  • Conduct team training and mentor housekeeping staff to ensure consistent service quality

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within a 4 or 5-star resort or eco-lodge is required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and other departments
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to perform cleaning tasks when necessary
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Driver’s licence and permanent residency in the local area
  • Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays
  • Motivated, punctual, and able to inspire and lead a housekeeping team
