Key Responsibilities
On this project, you will be a key player in executing precision structural welding work. Your core accountabilities will include:
- Performing high-quality structural welds on beams, channels, and plates in strict accordance with client specifications and welding procedures (WPS).
- Reading and accurately interpreting drawings, blueprints, and layout requirements.
- Conducting repairs, modifications, and retrofits on existing structures and equipment.
- Operating cutting, gouging, grinding, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Fitting and welding skids and structural subassemblies.
- Actively participating in our Quality Control Program and maintaining meticulous standards.
- Communicating clearly with Forepersons-Lead Hands regarding job progression, material needs, or equipment issues.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following non-negotiable certifications and experience:
- A valid Journeyperson Welder certificate from a provincial or federal authority.
- A valid CWB structural welding ticket.
- Current safety tickets: H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and EWP (Elevated Work Platform).
- Proven experience in oil and gas construction or facility maintenance.
- The ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Preference will be given to local candidates in the Cold Lake-Bonnyville area. Contractors with their own welding rigs will also be considered.
