Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our night shift fabrication team, you will be responsible for the precision welding of component parts and assemblies. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Spot welding and finishing welds on various parts and assemblies according to specifications.
  • Safely and correctly handling and using welding jigs and fixtures.
  • Cleaning completed welds, removing spatter, and stamping weldments for identification and traceability.
  • Following First Part Checked procedures to ensure consistent quality from the start of each run.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Adhering to production schedules and deadlines to meet team goals.
  • Conducting pre-shift safety inspections of equipment like hoists, forklifts, and welding units.
  • Inspecting your own work and reporting any non-conforming product.
  • Participating in training and continuous improvement (lean) initiatives as required.

Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable and skilled individual who possesses:

  • The ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
  • Strong manual welding skills with a focus on quality and consistency.
  • The initiative to work independently, manage priorities, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.
  • A sharp eye for detail to identify substandard workmanship in fabrication and welding.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools, impact wrenches, and air tools.
  • The physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Humboldt-Englefeld area and have the legal right to work in Canada.
