Key Responsibilities
In this key operational role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe completion of nightly collection routes. Your duties will include:
- Safely operating a brand-new Volvo Heavy Rigid truck to complete designated kerbside waste collection routes.
- Ensuring all collections are performed thoroughly and according to schedule, with a keen eye for detail.
- Conducting pre-start and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhering to all road safety regulations, company procedures, and local council guidelines.
- Maintaining a professional standard and representing the company positively while on shift.
- Utilising basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor checks and troubleshoot common issues where applicable.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current, valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence.
- A minimum of 2 years of driving experience with a proven safe record.
- The ability to supply a current VicRoads Driver Licence History Check.
- A self-motivated, reliable work ethic and strong attention to detail.
- The capability to pass a pre-employment medical and background check.
- While not essential, mechanical knowledge is a distinct advantage.
- Must be available for immediate start.
