Key Responsibilities

As a Hammer Hand, you’ll be part of a skilled and collaborative team working on a variety of projects across the Auckland region.

  • Assist with minor renovation and building works as part of construction and greenspace projects.
  • Perform concrete work, including boxing, and install bollards, fencing, tracks, and wooden structures.
  • Contribute to hard and soft landscaping tasks to enhance public spaces.
  • Support project delivery to ensure work is completed on time and meets high standards of quality.
  • Use hand and power tools confidently, and operate small machinery including diggers where advantageous.
  • Follow all health and safety practices, keeping yourself, your team, and the public safe.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deliver exceptional results.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for someone with practical building experience, a positive attitude, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Essential Requirements:

  • A full driver’s licence.
  • Proven experience working on-site, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
  • A solid work ethic and willingness to take on a range of tasks.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and strong sense of teamwork.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • In accordance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy, the successful candidate will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred (But Not Essential):

  • WTR endorsements or Class 2 licence.
  • A current Site Safe Passport.
  • A trade background.
  • Experience operating small machinery, including diggers.
