Key Responsibilities
- Safely and skillfully operating excavators for a variety of tasks, from digging sub-soils and undercutting roads to stripping and preparing precise house pads.
- Performing careful excavation work around newly completed homes to prepare for landscaping, ensuring no damage is done.
- Operating a range of machinery, including those with Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements, as needed across the site.
- Taking an active role in general site upkeep—this includes sweeping roads, maintaining access ways, and keeping temporary car parks clean and functional.
- Assisting with the maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and machinery to keep our equipment in top condition.
- Helping to maintain stable access roads and site yards, ensuring a safe and organized workspace for everyone.
- Working closely with the Earthworks and Project Managers, lending a hand with various tasks to keep the project moving forward smoothly.
Qualifications
- You hold a full, clean driver’s licence with the necessary class and are comfortable commuting to our Matamata site.
- A Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement is a must-have for this role.
- You have at least 1–2 years of solid, hands-on experience operating an excavator in a construction or civil setting.
- More than just running a machine, you have a strong work ethic and are genuinely willing to pitch in and assist with general site operations whenever needed.
- You take safety seriously and are conscious of working around others and completed homes.
- You’re reliable, punctual, and ready to contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
