Key Responsibilities

  • Take the controls of a range of heavy machinery think compactors, excavators, dozers, graders, and dump trucks to complete a variety of tasks across the landfill site.
  • Get involved in ongoing construction projects, such as building new cells, cut and fill operations, drainage and lining works, and maintaining internal roads.
  • Play a critical role in daily operations by safely moving, placing, and compacting waste, as well as spreading cover material to manage the site effectively.
  • Work hand-in-hand with a supportive on-site team, ensuring everything runs smoothly, safely, and in line with strict environmental standards.
  • Show pride in your work and the company by maintaining a professional attitude and keeping our site looking tidy and well-organized.
  • Take ownership of your machinery by conducting daily pre-start checks, performing routine maintenance, and keeping your equipment clean and ready to go.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and records, helping us maintain high standards of compliance and safety.

Qualifications

  • You come with solid, hands-on experience operating earthmoving equipment, ideally including compactors, excavators, dump trucks, and bulldozers in a civil or industrial setting.
  • You hold a Class 2 license with a WTR endorsement this is essential for the role. A Class 4 license would be a distinct advantage.
  • You have a good mechanical aptitude and aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty to perform basic maintenance and checks.
  • You’re just as comfortable working independently, managing your tasks for the day, as you are collaborating closely with the wider team.
  • Safety is at the forefront of your mind, and you understand the importance of following procedures in a complex operational environment.
  • Most importantly, you’re reliable, take pride in your work, and are keen to contribute to a team with a strong environmental purpose.
