We are Louis Brier Home and Hospital, a 215-bed accredited residential care facility located in Vancouver’s beautiful Oakridge area, alongside the Weinberg Residence with its 40 assisted living and 20 private pay complex care suites. Key Responsibilities (Housekeeping)

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks throughout the facility, including residents’ rooms, Assisted Living suites, public lounges, bathrooms, offices, and meeting rooms.
  • Sweep and damp-mop floors, vacuum carpets, and ensure all flooring is clean and safe.
  • Dust and polish furniture, keeping common areas and resident spaces looking their best.
  • Clean bathrooms thoroughly, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
  • Make beds neatly and comfortably for residents, contributing to a homelike atmosphere.
  • Work with care and respect in all resident areas, understanding that this is their home.

Key Responsibilities (Laundry)

  • Operate washing machines and dryers safely and efficiently, following established procedures.
  • Collect, sort, and clean all linen, including the personal laundry of residents, treating each item with care.
  • Follow infection control guidelines to ensure all linens are hygienically processed.
  • Fold, sort, and distribute clean linens to the appropriate user areas throughout the facility.
  • Ensure residents’ personal clothing is handled respectfully and returned to the right place.

Key Responsibilities (Combined)

  • Work collaboratively with the wider Housekeeping and Laundry team to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, using proper body mechanics and infection control practices.
  • Interact with residents and staff in a warm, respectful manner, reflecting our values of caring and integrity.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate person promptly.
  • Take pride in your contribution to the overall wellbeing and comfort of everyone in the facility.

Qualifications

  • You have completed Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Related experience in housekeeping or laundry is preferred, and a Building Service Worker certificate would be an asset.
  • You take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environments.
  • You’re comfortable working in a healthcare setting and interacting with residents in a caring, respectful way.
  • You have a good eye for detail and can follow cleaning and laundry procedures consistently.
  • You’re reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • You understand the importance of confidentiality and privacy in a residential care setting.
  • You’re committed to health and safety practices, including infection control.
  • Most importantly, you share our values of caring, accountability, and integrity, and want to contribute to a positive, person-centred environment.
