Dykeland Lodge is a home-like long-term care facility nestled in the beautiful town of Windsor, Nova Scotia. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties related to maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our residents to enjoy.
  • Handle laundry tasks with care, ensuring linens and personal clothing are clean, fresh, and ready to use.
  • Work as part of a dedicated Environmental Services team, supporting each other to get the job done right.
  • Follow proper cleaning and infection control procedures to maintain a safe and healthy space for residents, families, and staff.
  • Interact with residents in a warm, respectful manner—your smile and cheerful attitude can brighten someone’s day.
  • Take initiative when you see something that needs attention, working with minimal supervision but always as a team player.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of your work, respecting the dignity of every resident.
  • Use proper body mechanics and safety practices to protect yourself while performing your duties.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry is considered an asset, especially if it’s in a long-term care or similar setting.
  • You genuinely enjoy working with seniors and have the patience and warmth to make them feel valued.
  • You have exemplary customer service skills and can communicate effectively in English, both in writing and conversation, with residents, families, and coworkers.
  • You’re reliable, have good attendance, and bring a cheerful disposition to work every day.
  • You understand the importance of confidentiality and privacy in a healthcare setting.
  • You can take initiative and work with minimal supervision while still being a respectful, hardworking team player.
  • You have a basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and are willing to learn our specific procedures.
  • A Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Screening from the last 3 months is required.
