Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our welding team, you will take on diverse and challenging fabrication tasks. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal components to assemble structural forms like conveyors, feed bins, and machinery frames.
- Analyzing engineering drawings and specifications to plan your approach to layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Welding components expertly in all positions flat, vertical, and overhead.
- Setting up, aligning, and securing parts before assembly using precision tools like straightedges, calipers, and squares.
- Selecting the correct tools and materials (torches, rods, flux) based on welding charts and metal types/thicknesses.
- Operating standard welding equipment (SMAW, GMAW) and using hand/power tools like grinders and chippers for finishing work.
- Championing a safe workplace by properly using PPE and consistently adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Contributing positively to our team environment and promoting safe work practices.
Qualifications
We are seeking a reliable and skilled professional with the following:
- A minimum of 3 years of proven welding experience in a fabrication or industrial setting.
- The ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in layout, fitting, and welding in all positions.
- Hands-on experience with common welding tools and equipment.
- A strong, demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
- CWB tickets are a valuable asset.
- The wage offered will be determined by your skill level and experience, verified by a practical on-site welding test.
