Key Responsibilities
- Follow established cleaning and laundry schedules to ensure an adequate supply of clean linens is always available for resident care
- Clean walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors according to department procedures, maintaining a spotless environment
- Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing staff when working in resident living areas to minimize disruption and meet individual needs
- Dispose of trash and waste, including biohazardous materials, strictly following facility policies and safety protocols
- Post safety signs whenever cleaning activities create potential hazards, protecting residents, staff, and visitors
- Use personal protective equipment when handling blood or other potentially infectious materials, adhering to all safety instructions
- Keep all chemicals and cleaning supplies in original containers, referring to labels and safety data sheets for proper handling
Qualifications
Experience in environmental services within a healthcare setting is preferred, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are equally valued.
