Key Responsibilities
As a professional driver with U.S. Xpress, your focus is on safe, efficient transportation.
- Safely operate a late-model truck to transport freight across the country on assigned OTR, Dedicated, or Team routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and hours-of-service (HOS) rules.
- Manage trip documentation, including logs and delivery paperwork, accurately and on time.
- Maintain professional communication with dispatch, customers, and team partners.
Qualifications
To join our team of professional drivers, you must meet the following criteria:
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) is required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- For Company Drivers: A minimum of 3 months of verifiable driving experience is required.
- For Lease & Owner Operator Programs: A minimum of 6 months of verifiable experience is required.
- A clean driving record: No more than 1 preventable accident in 2 years, no major accidents in 5 years, and no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years.
- Must pass a DOT physical and drug test. No drug-related convictions or positive/refused tests in the past 5-10 years (CDL holders).
- No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years (10 years if holding a CDL at the time).
