Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the blast crew, you will be responsible for critical on-site tasks that support safe and efficient mining operations. Your duties will include:

  • Assisting senior blast crew members with the preparation, handling, and transportation of explosive materials and associated equipment.
  • Performing general labouring duties on the blast crew, which may involve digging, cleaning, and preparing blast areas and stemming holes.
  • Rigorously adhering to all site-specific safety protocols, Dangerous Goods regulations, and company procedures without exception.
  • Conducting pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit crew to achieve daily production goals safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

To secure this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • A minimum of 12 months of proven experience in a production mining, open-pit environment in a similar blast crew or mining labourer position.
  • A current Dangerous Goods Security Card (mandatory).
  • A current WA Driver’s Licence.
  • A National Police Clearance issued within the last six months.
  • A highly motivated, proactive attitude with a demonstrated, unwavering commitment to safety.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and follow detailed instructions in a high-risk environment.
