Key Responsibilities
- You’ll be the final, crucial link between our factory floor and our customers’ homes and businesses.
- Travel to customer homes and commercial sites across Taranaki to professionally install a wide range of window coverings, including curtains, blinds, awnings, and specialty products
- Ensure every installation is executed with precision perfectly level, securely fixed, and operating smoothly
- Carry out repairs, maintenance, and cleaning on existing window furnishings as required
- Be the friendly, professional face of Drapes and Blindz Direct, explaining how products work and answering customer questions with patience and clarity
- Troubleshoot installation challenges on the spot, finding practical solutions that maintain both quality and customer satisfaction
- Maintain your installation vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard of organisation and cleanliness
- Work closely with our sales and production teams, providing feedback that helps us continuously improve our products and processes
- Keep accurate records of completed jobs and any site-specific notes for future reference
- We’re looking for someone with practical skills and a genuine service mindset.
Qualifications
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Solid practical handyman skills or experience in a trade-adjacent role carpentry, joinery, fitting, or similar
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve on the fly
- A genuine enjoyment of customer-facing work and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with a range of installation tools and equipment
- Good physical fitness and confidence working at heights on ladders and steps
- A valid, clean New Zealand driver’s licence
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Previous experience installing curtains, blinds, or similar window furnishings
- Experience reading and interpreting floor plans or installation diagrams
- Knowledge of the Taranaki region and local geography
