Key Responsibilities
In this multifaceted support role, you will perform essential tasks across three key areas to ensure resident comfort and facility standards:
Dietary Support Duties:
- Assist with meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to individual resident diets.
- Assemble and distribute meal trays, assist residents with dining, and clean the dining area and kitchen.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans, and assist with receiving and stocking food supplies.
Environmental (Housekeeping) Duties:
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, including floors, furniture, and equipment.
- Complete scheduled cleaning, change linens, and ensure all areas meet health and safety standards.
- Replenish housekeeping supplies and report any maintenance needs.
Laundry Support Duties:
- Operate commercial washers and dryers to process resident clothing and facility linens.
- Sort, fold, iron, and deliver clean laundry to residents’ rooms and storage areas.
- Maintain the laundry area, monitor supplies, and ensure all items are properly labeled.
Qualifications
We are looking for a reliable and caring individual with the following qualifications:
- A high school graduation diploma or equivalent is required.
- The ability to follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
- Must be physically able to perform the full range of assigned duties, which include standing, bending, lifting, and operating equipment.
- A good attendance record and a demonstrated sense of responsibility.
- A willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks, satisfactory to The Salvation Army.
- A compassionate, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to maintaining resident dignity and confidentiality.
