We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Laundry Aide to join our team. In this role, you’ll perform various laundry duties associated with providing residents with the required laundry service, helping to maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
As a Laundry Aide, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring residents have clean, fresh, and properly maintained clothing and linens.
- Sort and separate items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements, ensuring proper care for each fabric type.
- Operate automatic washing machines, dryers, irons, and sewing machines safely and efficiently.
- Hand iron and fold or hang garments after laundering to ensure they are neat and ready for use.
- Perform simple mending and repairs on residents’ clothing as needed.
- Transport laundered garments to appropriate floors and deliver them to residents’ rooms.
- Ensure proper identification of all personal clothing, maintaining accurate labeling.
- Maintain a clean work environment by dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required.
- Maintain appropriate levels of supplies such as soap, bleach, fabric softener, and thread, notifying supervisors when reordering is needed.
- Clean the work area upon completion of each shift, following all safety and hygiene protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for someone with a basic understanding of laundry techniques and a commitment to quality work.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of public-school education is required (Grade 12 Diploma preferred).
- Must be able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.
- Basic understanding of good laundry techniques and practices.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift/move laundry as required.
Preferred (But Not Essential):
- Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and sewing machines.
