We are currently hiring a Laundry Attendant with at least seven months of hands-on experience to join our hotel operations team. This is not an entry-level position; we need someone who already understands chemical handling, finishing techniques, and the pace of a busy laundry room. Key Responsibilities
- Mix and measure detergents, bleaches, starches, and specialty chemicals according to established formulas and fabric requirements.
- Operate commercial finishing equipment including steam presses and industrial irons to complete pants, jackets, shirts, skirts, and silk garments.
- Hand iron fine linens and delicate dry-cleaned items requiring extra care and precision.
- Hand fold and bag finished shirts, sheets, and assorted articles for delivery to guest rooms or banquet areas.
- Inspect each finished item against establishment quality standards, checking for stains, damage, or improper processing.
- Document any articles that require re-cleaning, repair, or replacement due to damage or processing errors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station in a setting that can be hot, humid, and noisy by nature.
- Work efficiently under pressure during peak check-out and event turnaround days.
- Communicate equipment issues or supply needs promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications
Required:
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 months to 1 year of recent experience in commercial or hotel laundry operations.
- Proven ability to operate steam presses, industrial irons, and commercial washing equipment.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling, dilution ratios, and fabric compatibility.
- Physically capable of standing for extended shifts and lifting loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
Work environment considerations:
