Key Responsibilities
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, filling holes, and sealing cracks.
- Select the appropriate paint or finish whether oil, latex, enamel, or stain and mix it with thinners or reducers as needed.
- Measure and cut trim to size using a variety of carpentry tools.
- Apply paint to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- Hang wallpaper or fabric to walls with precision and care.
- Keep job sites clean and organized, returning tools and materials to their proper storage areas after each shift.
- Monitor the quality of your work and make adjustments to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols, including when working at heights.
- Maintain records of supplies, materials, and activities.
- Create estimates for painting jobs and communicate them clearly to customers.
Qualifications
Required:
- At least two years of experience in a professional painting or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of painting and decorating techniques, including surface preparation and finish application.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols for painting and working at heights.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Comfort working at heights using ladders or lifts.
- A passion for painting and exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience in hospitality, hotel, or commercial maintenance settings.
- Additional skills in drywall repair, wallpaper hanging, or basic carpentry.
