Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, masking, and sanding to ensure proper adhesion.
  • Apply chemical paint stripping solution using spray guns or brushes, following safety protocols.
  • Remove paint stripper using pressure washers, leaving surfaces clean and ready for new coatings.
  • Mix and apply primers and paints according to job specifications and technical requirements.
  • Handle placard installation using aircraft technical data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Store, handle, use, and dispose of hazardous chemicals in accordance with Federal, State, and Local Environmental Protection Laws.
  • Perform stripe, registration, and logo layout and application from drawings and prints (Painter III level).
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including proper care of tools and equipment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, masking, and sanding.
  • Familiarity with applying chemical paint strippers using spray guns or brushes.
  • Knowledge of pressure washer operation for paint removal.
  • Ability to mix and apply primers and paints according to specifications.
  • Experience with placard installation using aircraft technical data.
  • Understanding of hazardous chemical storage, handling, use, and disposal in compliance with environmental laws.
  • For Painter III: Proven ability to perform stripe, registration, and logo layout and application from drawings and prints.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in aircraft painting or industrial coating applications.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and prints.
