MIG Welder Wanted In Singapore

We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder who holds a valid welder qualification certificate and has at least three years of hands-on experience working in Singapore. You’ll be working on petrochemical plant construction, addition and alteration projects, where precision, cleanliness, and code-level quality are non-negotiable. If you’ve passed radiography tests before and take pride in producing sound, inspect-ready welds, you’ll fit right in.

Company Overview

Skyrus is a Singapore-based engineering firm specializing in petrochemical plant construction, civil works, and facility management. We are not a general fabrication shop. Our projects span both Brown Field and Green Field environments, often involving tight spaces, existing infrastructure, and strict safety protocols.

We use automated machinery CNC profile cutters, bandsaws, and precision equipment to support our fabrication and manufacturing processes. But automation only gets us so far. The quality of the weld still comes down to the person holding the torch. That’s why we are selective about who joins our welding team. We value skill, certification, and a safety-first mindset, and we reward those who bring it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys used in petrochemical plant components and structures.
  • Interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS) and work to prescribed parameters for amperage, voltage, travel speed, and shielding gas.
  • Inspect base materials and finished welds for surface defects, penetration, slag inclusion, porosity, or other discontinuities.
  • Prepare welding surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as required prior to striking an arc.
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment, including torches, feeders, grounding clamps, and gas regulators.
  • Position and secure workpieces using clamps, jigs, fixtures, or overhead cranes as needed.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions depending on job requirements.
  • Ensure completed welds meet radiographic testing standards and visual inspection criteria.
  • Follow strict safety protocols for hot work, confined space entry, and working at heights when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly store tools and consumables at the end of each shift.
  • Collaborate with fitters, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel to maintain project timelines and quality expectations.

Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable welding experience working in Singapore.
  • Valid Welder Qualification Certificate recognized by Singapore authorities or relevant international standards.
  • Experience certificate from previous employer(s) confirming your welding tenure and skill level.
  • Proven ability to produce radiography-ready welds and successfully pass Radiography Test (RT) acceptance criteria.
  • Physically fit for work in petrochemical plant environments, including the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Own basic welding hand tools and PPE (auto-darkening helmet, welding jacket, gloves, safety boots).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Brown Field projects (modifications, tie-ins, retrofits within active operating plants).
  • Familiarity with WPS-PQR and ability to work within qualified parameters.
  • Multi-process capability (Flux Core, Stick, TIG) is an advantage.
  • CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent certification is a strong plus.

Benefits and Perks

  • Daily rated pay between $26 and $28 SGD, commensurate with your experience and certification level.
  • Stable project pipeline within Singapore’s petrochemical and facility management sectors.
  • Exposure to automated fabrication processes you’ll work alongside CNC profile cutters and bandsaws, not just manual tools.
  • Opportunity to demonstrate skill quality through radiography good welders get recognized and retained.
  • Safety-conscious work culture. We do not compromise on safety to meet deadlines, and we expect the same from our team members.
  • Long-term collaboration potential for welders who consistently meet quality and productivity standards.
  • A team of engineering professionals who respect skilled tradespeople and treat them as partners in project success.

How to Apply

If you are a certified MIG welder with Singapore work experience and a track record of passing radiographic testing, we want to hear from you.

Please send your resume, along with clear copies of your Welder Qualification Certificate and previous Experience Certificate(s), to the contact email or application portal listed in the job posting. Indicate your daily rate expectation and availability in your cover letter or email body.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a practical welding assessment and interview. Be prepared to demonstrate your skill and discuss your experience with radiography acceptance.
