We are hiring a WP Welder for an established shutter company in Singapore. This is not a bench welding role you will be installing iron frames and shutter systems at height, working on active project sites. If you are comfortable on a ladder or scaffold, skilled in MIG and Stick welding, and hold valid BCA certification, we have consistent work waiting for you.
Monthly compensation ranges from $3,500 to $4,500 SGD, commensurate with your certification level and site experience. This is a full-time position with immediate start.

Our work involves rolling shutters, fire-rated doors, security grilles, and access control systems all of which require strong, clean structural welds and precise installation.
Unlike high-volume production shops, we focus on project-based installation work. That means our welders spend as much time on site as they do in the workshop. We move fast, work safely, and expect our team members to be self-sufficient, physically capable, and comfortable working at height. Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and Stick welding on mild steel, galvanized iron, and other ferrous metals for shutter frames, support brackets, and track systems.
- Interpret shop drawings and installation plans to determine weld locations, joint configurations, and structural requirements.
- Install iron frames, guide rails, roller housings, and shutter curtain assemblies at designated entry points, loading bays, and windows.
- Work at height using ladders, scaffolding, boom lifts, or other access equipment fear of heights is not an option.
- Conduct on-site visual inspection of welds for penetration, slag inclusion, undercut, and dimensional accuracy.
- Grind, clean, and prepare weld joints before and after welding to achieve acceptable surface finish and coating readiness.
- Coordinate with installation teams and project supervisors to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
- Maintain welding equipment on site, including torch liners, contact tips, gas diffusers, and earth clamps.
- Adhere to all workplace safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, hot work permits, and barricading of work areas.
- Perform minor touch-up welding and repairs on existing shutter installations during service and maintenance calls.
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid BCA welding certification (Singapore Building and Construction Authority).
- Proven proficiency in both MIG and Stick welding processes.
- Ability to weld structural iron frames and mild steel components to acceptable code standards.
- Comfortable working at height scaffolds, ladders, elevated work platforms.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks on active construction sites.
- Own basic welding PPE and hand tools.
- Valid Work Pass or Singaporean-PR status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shutter door, rolling grille, or architectural metalwork installation.
- Familiarity with on-site installation environments, not just factory fabrication.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings and mark up weld locations independently.
- Class 3 driving license is an advantage but not required.
