Key Responsibilities
As the primary point of contact in the local post office, you will play a key role in daily operations. Your responsibilities include:
- Providing courteous and efficient customer service at the counter, handling sales, transactions, and postal inquiries.
- Accurately sorting, processing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Offering clear information and guidance to customers on postal services, rates, and forms.
- Proactively addressing and resolving any customer concerns regarding delivery or service to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintaining a secure, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
We are looking for a community-oriented candidate with the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalency (or relevant experience in business administration).
- Proven experience in a customer service or retail setting, including cash handling.
- Strong bilingual (English and French) communication skills are imperative for this role.
- The physical ability to lift containers up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform sorting duties.
- Flexibility and availability to work on an on-call, as-needed basis.
- Applicants residing in or near North Hatley-Waterville are strongly preferred.
