Key Responsibilities
As a Dedicated Team Driver, you and your partner will be responsible for a consistent, well-defined route. Your primary duties will be to:
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle as a team, transporting dry van trailers loaded with home improvement supplies across an 8-state Midwest region (CO, IA, KS, MO, ND, NE, SD, WY).
- Execute a schedule of approximately 10 loads per week, with 90% of loads being drop-and-hook for faster turnaround.
- Handle 100% no-touch freight, meaning you will not be responsible for loading or unloading the trailer.
- Adhere to all hours-of-service regulations, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate driver logs and documentation.
- Represent Schneider professionally in all interactions with customers and the public.
Qualifications
This position requires a pre-formed team of two drivers. To qualify, both team members must meet the following:
- Team Requirement: You must apply as an already-formed driving team of two individuals.
- Licensing: Both drivers must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Those interested in company-paid training may apply with a valid Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP).
- Endorsement: A HazMat endorsement is required within 60 days of hire; Schneider provides self-paced online training to help you obtain it.
